Tricia is doing well!!!
Tricia is doing well, she's still on the vent, but they are talking about letting her take a small vacation from it. Gwyneth's CF test came back negative, and there are many more updates on their website: http://www.cfhusband.blogspot.com/

Update on Tricia and Gwyneth
AWAKE!
FINALLY! Tricia is fully awake! She is still weak and very tired/sleepy, but her mind if fully awake! Still having a hard time focusing her eyes, and she can't do much with her hands, but we're having a much easier time reading her lips.
I just spent about an hour with her (they're doing her chest PT right now). When I arrived, she told me that she wasn't clear on where she was and why she was there. The last she remembers, she was still down on her usual hall (7800). She even though that she was in a different hospital. I assured her that she was at Duke, and spent about 10 minutes giving her the outline of the past 3 weeks.
Then, I showed her The Video of Gwyneth and we both spent some time crying tears of happiness together. We also watched a few minutes of the video of Gwyneth that my parents shot for us last Wednesday. I hadn't seen it yet as I was waiting to watch it with her. I'll be posting that video here soon.I also showed her the map of everyone who has been thinking about and praying for her, and told her that we've had about 200,000 hits and about 4000 comments since she went to sleep 9 days ago...she was as amazed as I have been. The Road Ahead is certainly not easy, but we've got this big hurdle behind us (waking up).
Gwyneth Rose is doing well. Her white blood count was up, so they sent a culture to check for an infection, and resumed her antibiotics just to be safe. Otherwise, she was sleeping peacefully when I checked on her a few minutes ago. Her CF screening should return tomorrow, and the scan of her head revealed no bleeding (can't remember if I mentioned that).Thank you so much! I'll be spending more time with Tricia today, and I'll be sure to tell you all about it. Nate

It's been almost a year...
I completely forgot that I created this blog so long ago. Time has flown by since then. I've actually been encouraged to re-start this blog by a family that I have never personally met. Tricia, Gwyneth and Nate Lawrenson are an amazing family, and I hope that you have an opportunity to "meet" them through me.
Tricia is someone I "met" online. She has Cystic Fibrosis and was being evaluated for a lung transplant when they found out that she was pregnant. This put a halt to their transplant plans, as she and Nate disussed and prayed about what to do.
Ultimately they decided that they were pregnant for a reason and that terminating the pregnancy was not an option for them. As of late, Tricia has been having complications relating to her failing lungs and the added stress of a pregnancy on her body. She went under surgery a week ago to be placed on a ventilator and they decided to deliver the baby via emergency c-section at that time. The doctors thought it was a better decision than having her undergo two major procedures with her body in such a delicate condition.
Gwenyth Rose was delivered at 24 weeks+ and is holding her own in the NICU, absolutely amazing the doctors and other staff. She truely is a miracle baby. Tricia is also doing well considering the circumstances and they are slowly weaning her off of the ventilator. They are hoping that after a few months of recovery, she can be re-evaluated for a lung transplant.
If you would, please join me in keeping this family in your thought and prayers. Nate does a fantastic job of sharing their daily experiences on his blog, you can visit it at www.cfhusband.blogspot.com.
